ALPHA FETO PROTEIN

Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is a protein primarily produced by a developing baby's liver and yolk sac. In healthy adults and children who are not pregnant, AFP levels are almost undetectable. It is clinically used in prenatal screening and as a tumor marker for certain cancers.
